Here are some photographs and an explanation of how we built our first gravity bikes. The first problem we encountered was getting some bikes all the used bikes we saw were trashed and would have required a lot of parts,cables,bearings tyres and tubes etc. So to keep it simple two BMX's were purchased from a well known supermarket with discount as our son woks there part-time. These were striped ready to begin... Attachments:

Next we got some RST forks from ebay, Fliped the frames and started assembling them, constructed a seat unit from birch ply left over from building our kitchen these were then clad in scrap aluminium from an old Raleigh bike sign Attachments:

The front Magura Brakes came from 20 year old Saracen Kiliflyer that had been unused for a number of years,They had been totally untouched from the day they left the factory,except for changing the brake pads (reliable or what...?) Kneeler plates were made from scrap chequer plate and bolted on, old camping mats were used to pad the seats and a piece of an old van awning to cover them. These were ready for testing. Attachments:

The seat unit was lowered and moved back,and brackets constructed to move the rear pegs back 100mm. Attachments:
